Updated Meal Policy of United Airlines


Please note this information supersedes previous inflight meal information.
United will stop refilling used cups and glasses altogether in cabins. If you request a refill, flight attendants will provide a replacement cup or glass. All tableware, dishes, cutlery, and glassware utilized in premium cabins are going to be thoroughly washed and sanitized.
The airline has re-introduced the recent beverage service on most flights.
Meal Service Domestic Flights
Domestic flights under 1.5 hours sealed drinks only, no snacks available.

Snacks offered in economy class on domestic flights on or more than 2.20 hours. And for premium cabin passengers (on flights over 2hrs 20 mins) flying from Chicago, Cleveland, Denver, Houston, LA, New York, San Francisco, Washington and Honolulu to LA and San Francisco are going to be offered a choice of:
A bagel baguette with veggie cheese or Turkey Monte with Raspberry Jam on morning flights.
and evening flights, they offer Tomato Basil and Mozzarella Focaccia or Carved Roasted Chicken Focaccia on afternoon Beverage.

Service Changes

On flights over 2.20 hrs, beverage services are going to be conducted.
On flights of 1 hr and a couple of .20 hrs only sealed drinks are offered, no hot drink service available.
Only Beer, Wine, or Liqueur is out there in premium cabins, all other alcohol items are removed.
Water bottles replace poured water services.
Complimentary beer and wine are available on end-of-the-day economy class services.
Coffee and tea are available on flights before 9:45 am on international flights and premium transcontinental flights.
Premium Transcontinental Flights
Economy class is going to be offered a snack choice.
Premium cabin can choose from two hot entrees (a vegetarian option included). All food is going to be packaged or covered in order that customers can unwrap it themselves.
International Flights
Economy class is going to be offered a choice of two hot entrees (vegetarian option is included in it). Pre-packaged food options are going to be provided for second service or mid-flight meal service. you’ll receive a meal tray consisting of a hot meal, salad, snack, and dessert.
Polaris will have a choice from three  (this also includes a vegetarian option). Pre-packaged food options are going to be offered for second service or mid-flight meal service. Meals are served on one tray, instead of course by course service.


United Airlines’ meal offerings will vary counting on where you’re flying to and from. As a general rule, United Airlines did not offer any complimentary meal service within North America, between the U.S. and Central America, and between Honolulu and Guam. However, complimentary snacks are provided also as a variety of non-alcoholic drinks.

Economy Class International

On all United Airlines international flights (except Caribbean/Latin America) you’ll receive a complimentary three-course meal in economy class and also a mid-flight snack of a sandwich or sweet treat on flights which is over 12 hours. The meal may include a salad, bread, main course, and dessert. Beer and wine are included.

However, spirits and liqueurs will got to be purchased.

Economy Class North America, Caribbean, Latin America

Since July 2019 passengers traveling on these services can choose between complimentary Byrd’s maple wafers, pretzels, and stroopwafels. These are served with soft drinks, juices, tea, and freshly brewed coffee as a complimentary.
If you’re after something more substantial on these flights, you’ll make purchases from the inflight menu listed within the above tab.

Note:- that each flight accepts credit and debit cards just for payments.


In premium cabins on all flights Alcoholic beverages are complimentary and also include in Economy on transcontinental flights.

Economy Class

Must be ordered a minimum of 24 hours before departure and are available in economy class on trans-Atlantic, trans-Pacific, intra-Pacific flights also as South American flights to/from Argentina, Brazil, and Peru. Special meals are going to be served where United serves breakfast, lunch, or dinner services.
You may order the subsequent ten special meals:
Asian Vegetarian, Hindu Indian Vegetarian, Vegan, Vegetarian Lacto-Ovo, Child, Gluten-Free, Jain, Japanese, Kosher, and Muslim.

Business/First Class

On first-class domestic flights in the U.S, special meals are offered on pre-order bases on flights over 2,000 miles like New York/Newark and LA, San Francisco, Boston, and from the continental U.S. to Hawaii and the other way around.
Passengers traveling in first-class may order the subsequent options: Asian vegetarian, Hindu (Indian) vegetarian, Vegan, Vegetarian, Child, Gluten-free, Jain, Japanese, Kosher, and Muslim.

The Choice Menu is out there for United Economy customers to get throughout North America and choose Latin America markets. It’s available on most of the flights scheduled over 1.5hrs and offers Tapas, Savoury, and Classic snack boxes alongside other snacks, including Pringles, fruit and nut bars, and trail mix nearly all day long.

The hot meal is offered on most of the flights between Hawaii and Chicago, Houston, New York, and Washington, D.C. also as on most flights between any JFK and, LA or San Francisco.
Bistro on Board offers fresh foods purchasable on most United mainline flights scheduled for quite 3hrs within North America and to pick Latin America markets. The onBoard menu items of Bistro change seasonally and offer some vegetarian options.


Depending on your flight time refreshments, snacks and cold platters are going to be offered in first-class on flights under 3hrs, and on flights over 3hrs, full meal service is expected with entree options along with full bar offering.
